When you have a system design you would like to reuse re-use for another customer, you can save time by saving it as a System Package. This function is especially useful when you have created a detailed package, fully loaded with details such as isolators, framing, and cable sizes, in a quote layout you are happy with. This is then easy for sales staff to use.

The system packages are the fastest way to set up a quote. It saves a lot of time by avoiding repetitive tasks.

Info

Packages are more flexible and useful if you have already set up your Inventory Pricebook

There are 3 different options for setting up packages:

  • Using an existing quote

  • Using the package builder in-app

  • Filling in the spreadsheet as part of an onboarding package.

Creating packages using an existing quote

  1. Open an existing quote that you have already created and would like to convert into a package.

  2. On the Map page, click on the brown grey Package icon on the left and hit ‘Save Configuration as Package’

Options for setting Package pricing

There are 2 options for setting Package pricing:

Set the total package price as a price override

  • This may be how you currently have you packages listed in a handbook for your sales people, and therefore will be quick to set up in SolarPlus

  • Site-specific costs such as surcharges, or different racking options can be added on top of the package price by categorising them as Quote Price Add-ons.

  • The disadvantage of this is that if the sales person applies the package, then adjusts the quantity of panels or batteries, the price will not automatically update. They will have to apply a custom price, and be confident of getting it right.

Calculate the package price in SolarPlus based on the price of each inventory item

  • This gives the greatest flexibility for sales people - if a panel or other item has to be added or subtracted, or a different racking item used, the price will automatically be re-calculated

  • Much quicker to update pricing by editing the inventory pricing, rather than having to change each package price when the price of a panel changes for example.

These packages provide the structure of the quote, and include the necessary meters and BMUs etc so the sales people don’t have to think about those. Once a package has been loaded, then the panel model and inverter model can be adjusted. Eg the package may have a 5kW inverter but it can be swapped for a 6kW inverter.
